Jackson Health System, Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development (2014–2015)

Position Scope

Provided overall direction for strategic growth and program planning efforts through ongoing collaboration with various stakeholders,

including executive management, the University of Miami Health System, physicians, planning agencies, consultants, and government

officials. Steered and supported the advancement of system goals related to areas such as improving geographical patient access development,

service line optimization, physician alignment activities, and care continuum expansion. Reported directly to Senior VP and

Chief Strategy Officer.

Key Accomplishments

• Worked with JHS senior leadership to plan and facilitate the negotiations, audits, amendments, process improvements and expense

reconciliation for the $100M+ Annual Operating Agreement (AOA) with the University of Miami Health System.

• Completed Jackson Health System’s first Community Health Needs Assessment as required by the PPACA.

• Invited by the Health Council of South Florida to represent JHS as part of the Miami-Dade Population Health Initiative.

• Developed outreach initiatives for Miami Transplant Institute and trained liaisons on growth improvement tactics.

• Conducted and presented assessments and analyses on opportunities that strengthen physician relationships and align physician

activities to promote market expansion.

Highlights

Represented Jackson Health System on the Miami-Dade County Residents’ Health Initiative, helping design a multi-sector population health partnership and innovation model to improve care quality, reduce costs, and prepare for CMMI State Innovation Model proposals.

Developed Jackson’s first Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) & Implementation Plan.

Led strategic negotiations for the $100M+ annual clinical partnership between JHS and the University of Miami.

Advanced initiatives for physician alignment and geographic expansion.
